The first photo 'Sick of Goodbys' is quite creepy due to the fact that it is in an empty dark room, which gives an eerie feel to it. While 'Red #1' has a more homely feel with its height and abstract exterior. They both have different looks because 'Sick of Goodbys' is a landscape photo showing its width while 'Red #1' is a portrait showing he height of it. They both surprise you. For example 'Sick of Goodbys' is quite random because of the top there is a legless doll and at the bottom its an empty with two mirrors placed upon each other. 'Red #1' on the other hand is surprising in the way the sculpture is balanced the heavy looking things balanced on lighter looking things placed at an angle which is unusual but quite aesthetically pleasing.
With the two photos I was given, the main difference I can see is that, 'Sick of Goodbys' along with it being black and white it looks like the artist used a mirror to get a certain affect which gives off a creepy yet sad feeling. This is caused by the dripping letters and the random doll held up by a single hand. On the other side there 'Red #1' which instantly gives off a more inviting and joyful look. Its also more interesting to look at because of its abstract sculpture and weird shapes. Both photos are similar in the way that both have a centre piece and plain background to pull attention to it. They also are both unusual because this is not something you would just think of doing , each photo is interesting and unique in the way its placed and taken photo of. In Franks photo the background is quite empty as well with only a bit of texture happening. In Vitturi's photo the background is also quite empty with a two block coloured wall, the mid ground like Franks is also where the artist wanted you to look and where everything is happening, and the foreground has just some random stray objects from the sculpture, just scattered around the place. They are both similar in the way of positioning where the photos would go.
The edges on Franks photo are curved and also in the way that the words and drips are both curved while the surroundings of that is pointed and the meeting point of two straight lines. Whereas Vitturi's edges are also curved but also jagged. For example the main structure is curved but there are some bits coming off it that ares picked and jagged. If I could ask them a question I would ask 'what made them take the photos?' and 'what made them want to do it?'
If I could change the name of Robert Franks photo I would call it 'mirror, mirror' because thats the main surface of the photo and it also reminds me of a twisted Snow White with the smashed and ghostly look to the mirrors. If I could change Lorenzo Vitturi's photo I would call it 'bEaCH dAyZ' because the colours remind me of a day at the beach in the 1970-80s because of the bright and vibrant colours.
